FAQ

Heat pump rebate questions

Do I need approval before installing?

Yes. Current provincial and federal programs require approval before the heat pump goes in, so please don’t book an install until the application is in.

Can I combine rebates?

Sometimes, but rules differ by program and can change. We’ll confirm what stacks for your situation during your assessment.

Do I need a home energy assessment?

Not for a standalone heat pump under the Home Renovation Savings Program. You do need one if you’re bundling upgrades such as windows or insulation.

Will a heat pump work in an Ontario winter?

Cold-climate models keep heating efficiently well below freezing. Many homeowners keep a furnace as backup for the coldest nights.

What if I don’t qualify?
